We hired Rivershore Construction to build our homes on the shores of East Grand Traverse Bay. With several family members right down the street, and many happy memories already in the books, we looked forward to building a home that would support such family gatherings for years to come. Given their reputation, we knew Rivershore was the builder for the job. . . . but we sure didn’t make it easy on them. First, we chose a lot with setbacks to challenge even the most capable builder. Then we asked them to build a log home – meaning the design, materials and construction methods were all directed by somebody else. Then we managed the whole thing from afar, appearing on site to provide feedback on only a few occasions throughout the build. But all real diamonds are born of pressure, and that’s what Rivershore delivered – a diamond. They built a beautiful, unique, custom-made and carefully considered home that suits us to a tee. You can feel, see and even smell the true craftsmanship of the home, all thanks to Rivershore’s expert hand.
Beyond the quality of the home, we enjoyed working with the people of Rivershore. They are knowledgeable, kind, and committed to their craft. In fact, we have so much regard for them, that we continue to use them for property management services. They are well suited to best maintain the home that they built, and we are grateful for their continued engagement.

We love our new home. We honestly feel that we could not have found a better builder and believe us, we looked at quite a few builders before settling on River Shore Construction. The team at River Shore Construction- Ron, Mike and Maryanne, kept us in the loop from the beginning to the very end of the entire process, and the completion date was as promised. The price they gave us is what we paid…..there were no hidden costs….the best word to describe them is HONEST. They were ALWAYS on top of things and could be reached at a moment’s notice. We even got to know all of the subcontractors and all of them were quality people whose workmanship was top notch. We received compliments by some high end builders from downstate regarding the quality of their work. Even the neighbors are impressed with the finished project.

Ron and Mike are more than just our contractor, they have become friends.
When we moved here from NY, we were incredibly frustrated with the lack responsiveness from many of the other builders we contacted.
The Team from Rivershore returned our call the very next day and within the same week, they were at our house, looking over our plans.
Our construction consisted of a complete remodel (all the way down to the studs) as well as adding some new areas (Front Porch, Side Porch, Garage, etc).
They were VERY honest about some of their concerns with our plans (this was during the height of COVID) but offered solutions and in many cases, ones that were better than the original.
While very few, when an issue did arise, they were transparent about it so nothing felt like a “surprise”

Mike and his team built a beautiful house for us. The fit & finish in general and the millwork in particular is precise and thoroughly thought through.
